How to make hot chocolate by: Jhermaine and Louise

The simplest yet the most delicious hot chocolate ever!

 To create the most delicious hot chocolate using simple methods.

Ingredients
.

2 Tbsp of Cadbury Drinking Chocolate mix

chocolate syrup 

2 cups of fresh milk

2 tbsp of sugar

A drop of vanilla extract

Whipped cream

Marshmallows

Utensils

• Mug
• Saucepan
• Whisk

Method

1. Combine milk and sugar in a small saucepan and heat it in medium heat until it steams. 
2. After the milk bubbles on the side turn off the heat and add the Cadbury Drinking Chocolate mix and whisk it. Add the chocolate syrup and add a drop of vanilla extract if decide.
3. Put mixture into your mug.
4. Then add your whipped cream or marshmallows on top if you want to.

If you want your hot chocolate sweeter, add more chocolate syrup. You can put any toppings you like.

Observing the Effects of Acid Rain

Aim: To see the effects of acid rain to our environment.

Equipment:  Petri dish, Weigh boat, baby flower, calcium carbonate, universals indication, bromothymol blue, sodium sulfide and acid

Method:
1. Place the weigh boat in the middle of the Petri dish.
2. Moist the chunk of apple and baby flower petal with water then place them both in the Petri dish around the weigh boat. Add 1 scoop of calcium carbonate that is moist and Make sure they are all placed separately.
3. Do 3 drops of universals indication and 3 drops of bromothymol blue around the weigh boat and around the Petri dish. Keep them separate.
4.  In the weigh boat put a scoop of sodium sulfide. Drop water on it then stir.
5. Add 4 drops of acid in the weigh boat then quickly close it.

 Results:


Observation: We saw how the universal indication, which was green at first and the bromothymol blue changed colour. The universal indication turned into a peachy like colour and the bromothymol blue turned green and yellow. We also noticed how the red baby flower petal started to turn a light pink colour though it was supposed to turn hard but we didn't have time. The apple turned a little bit dry and hard but due to not having much time it was still a bit moist. The moist calcium carbonate turned crusty. These all happened because of the effects of acid rain.

Explanation: Acid rain was formed when fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas was burned. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released in the air and rise up the atmosphere. The molecules dissolve in the water in the clouds. Then the rainwater becomes more acidic.

Conservation week

 Conservation means to prevent waste use of energy.  Conservation week encourages people to take care of and get involved in nature. It happens from 14th-22nd of September. There are activities, events and competitions.

 I think that this is very important because the earth is suffering. it is in need of our help since it is our only home. What will the future generation have if we don't take care of it? Right now our problem is Climate Change and Global Warming. There are still ways to change this. We can help prevent this by:

   Riding a Bike or Walking to School, by doing this we can reduce pollution and it can help us be more healthy and we'll be able to save money.

   

  We can use energy more wisely. we can do this by turning off the lights and unplugging computers, TVs and other electronics when you're not using them. We can stop using dishwashers and wash using our hands, hang clothes to dry them and also refrain from opening the fridge too much; just take out everything you need. 

   Plant flowers for our bees and make a compost bin. By planting flowers we can help our bees, we need to help the bees because they're our main pollinators. We can also make a compost bin. Instead of throwing waste like fruit peels, leftover food and vegetables out, we can throw them in the compost bin. By doing this, these wastes will break down faster and can also make the soil more fertile.

These two interesting nameless photographs that I found are by Oleg Oprisco or Oprisco. He is a Russian photographer. He got interested in photography when he was 16 and at the age of 18 he started taking photos of his friends acquaintances. He says He takes his photography using an antique $50 dollar film camera.

If I were to use this image as an inspiration I would like to have the person wearing a half crying half smiling mask and the flowers would be Madonna Lilies and Black roses.
